General Catering Assistant

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a General Catering Assistant to join our friendly team working at this high profile site in Berkshire.

You will be working within the beautiful grounds of Wellington College, a leading independent co-educational boarding and day school with over 1000 students aged 13 - 18.

Our dedicated Catering Department are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated individual to join our team committed to delivering high end services across the large college campus

Role Responsibility

• Comply with statutory and company requirements
• Assist in all aspects of the preparation of hardware for both core feeding and hospitality to the required standard.
• To operate the dishwasher and glass polishing machines and to maintain standards of cleanliness in line with instruction for both
• Assist with the hygienic cleaning of Plate Room areas and Hardware Stores to comply with all Health and Safety regulations
• Assist with the replenishment of hardware, cutlery and equipment to ensure service runs smoothly at all times
• Assist with the hygienic cleaning of utensils and work areas after service periods
• To undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the department’s activities
• Promote good working relationships with colleagues
• To comply with all the legal and hygiene requirements.
• To report any complaints or compliments and take action if at all possible
• To report any incident of accident, fire, theft, loss or damage and take action as may be appropriate
• To attend meetings and courses, as required

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

1.    Good verbal and written communication skills
2.    Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
3.    The ability to follow instruction and work on your own initiative

Desirable

1. Experience of working in a similar environment
2. Basic Food Safety/Health & Safety certificate

Package Description

You will be working 30 hours per week Monday to Friday with an opportunity to pick up additional hours during busy periods.
