Gas Engineer

Job Introduction

As a Commercial Gas Engineer at Sodexo, based in Leonardo, Yeovil, you will be an integral part of the mechanical services shift team on the Leonardo contract. Your role involves ensuring the safe control, operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical and gas assets on site, aligning with statutory compliance and the agreed Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) contract.

What you’ll do:

• Work within a shift system to provide a core presence at the site.

• Undertake inspection and reactive activity on various Mechanical Building Services equipment, including heating boilers, pumps, air handling units, and other commercial/industrial premises equipment.

• Ensure completion of all planned and reactive maintenance tasks in a timely manner to meet contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Participate in team huddles, meetings, and briefings as required by your line manager.

• Undertake quality training and competency assessments.

• Update CMMS (Global Maximo) via EZMax Mobile.

• Comply with health and safety requirements to ensure personal and team well-being.

What you bring:

• Commercial Gas qualifications.

• IOSH Managing Safety.

• HND or NVQ or equivalent in a relevant subject.

• Minimum of 5 years (preferably 10 years) experience in building services and plant engineering.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Numerate and computer literate.

• Analytical and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when needed.

• Demonstrated commitment to accomplishing set goals and seeking opportunities for self-development.
