Gardener/Grounds Maintenance Operative

About the role

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Grounds/Maintenance Operative to join our team based at Saltend Chemicals Park. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company.

A few things about you 

We want you to bring your problem solving skills, flexible approach to working and your great reliability with you when you join us. Don’t forget to bring you excellent attention to detail and good communication skills too!

Being a team player is really important, but you’ll also need to be able to work well on your own!

You must also:

  • have an NVQ level 2 or above
  • hold a valid, full and clean UK driving licence as you'll be using company vehicle when required.

Role Responsibility

Key Responsibilities for this role include -

  • Re-active work
  • TAR Work
  • Carry out all gardening works both PM’s & PMSTA’s
  • Carry out minor small projects.
  • Orders equipment for certain jobs
  • Hedge cutting site wide
  • Site wide grass cutting
  • Site wide weed spraying
  • Site wide strimming
  • Winter gritting
  • Site wide bins
  • Have a great knowledge of site and control of works (who owns which area and were permits are required).
  • Assist with the planning of projects giving ideas on which way is best in frank discussions with the team.
  • Have a good Health & Safety concept and follow rules
  • Provide “fast response team” during event to support daily operation.
 

The Ideal Candidate

The below is preferable but not essential -
 
  • Knowledge of grounds work
  • Knowledge of gardening
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent timekeeper
  • Work well with in a small team

Package Description

  • £10 per hour
  • Working Hours - Monday to Friday (overtime optional)
  • Uniform & full training provided
  • Free parking
