Job Description:
As a Front of House Supervisor at Sodexo at Battlesbury Barracks, Warminster BA12 8NJ, you'll lead a front-of-house team, ensuring smooth operations in the bar and food outlets. Your role is customer-facing, with a key focus on interacting with our Armed Forces personnel every day. What you’ll do:
- To control rostering and work details within the resources of the Mess to ensure that all tasks are completed to the satisfaction of the client.
- To be responsible for welfare and discipline of staff according to company procedure and as approved by the Site Services Manager.
- To ensure that conduct within the Mess is professional at all times.
- To maintain the staff training programme as directed, checking for competency after training is complete i.e. in process checks.
- To ensure that dress standards are met to include rules of jewellery etc. Staff shall be in uniform and well presented at all times.
- To ensure that all staff adhere to COSHH regulations.
- Monitor cleaning cupboards for correct presentation and safe practise.
- To maintain custody of quarterly checks of service equipment reporting deficiencies to the SSM.
- To maintain all company documentation accurately. To include training record cards.
- To meet all deadlines set by the Site Services Manager.
- To maintain administration for personnel i.e. timebook, timesheets and absence monitoring.
- To assist mess manager with EprophIT as required.
- Communicate instructions to staff as directed with SSM.
- To issue and account for stock, this may include ordering and stock taking.
- Weekly monitoring and verification of in process checks, supervisor’s checks, and cleaning schedules.
- Daily monitoring of the team and their output to ensure all tasks have been completed to a high standard.
- Ensure all staff are competent in the execution of their tasks.
- To monitor and verify the correct use storage and control of machinery equipment, cleaning materials and chemicals is being adhered to.
- Communicate concerns of service deliverance to the SSM.
- Monitor maintenance of cleaning cupboards, which should be strictly compliant with COSHH regulations.
- Monitors and verify that all staff are compliant with the Health & Safety Act and COSHH Regulations.
- Monitor and verify that cleaning standards are achieving the expectations of the client and company.
- Failure to achieve this standard will require corrective action which must be executed immediately.
- Maintenance of the company Quality Control Procedures.
- To develop your own skills within the scope of this position.
What you bring:
- Experience in a similar role, with knowledge of catering operations and some supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience in hospitality (hotel, bar, or restaurant) is a plus.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
- Comfort with working at a fast pace and adapting to changing situations.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate well with senior management.
