Front of House Operations Manager - Bateaux London Cruises

Job Introduction

Bateaux London, is the capitals leading dining cruise experience on the Thames, offering a range of experiences from jazz lunches to afternoon tea including exclusive hire and private dining, combining quality dining with spectacular views. Bateaux London Cruises is a privately owned company and sits in the Sodexo Prestige division of the Sodexo Group, who are currently the 18th largest employer worldwide. We are now looking to recruit an experienced food and beverage professional into the role of Front of House Operations Manager.

Role Responsibility

With 125,000 covers over 1000 cruises a year, this autonomous role involves managing a unique banqueting operation, reporting to the Account Director and managing a team of five people you will be responsible for ensuring optimum service delivery.

This role involves:-

  • Manage public restaurant and private charter cruise operations
  • Maximise the profitability of the Front of House operation
  • Lead, develop, manage and motivate a high performing team
  • Support the account director in the development of business strategy
  • Identify opportunities to maximise profit and growth
  • Manage service delivery to the highest standards
  • Ensure that deadlines and targets are hit
  • Lead the team and take responsibility when needed, act with initiative, demonstrate energy and enthusiasm

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of managing large volume conference and banqueting
  • Ability to create an experience and ensure high standards of service delivery
  • Proven track record in operational management in a similar environment
  • People management experience
  • Ability to interpret and utilise financial and commercial information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Achieve set, standards and operate to performance criteria; for example health and safety hygiene
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative within a team environment
