Job Introduction
 
Sodexo have a fantastic opportunity for a Front of House Manager in Bristol.
 
As a Front of House Manager, you will be expected to manage all the services within the operational business area, including catering, portering, mailroom, cleaning, and reception services, whilst complying with company policies, legislative requirements, and contractual requirements. You would be expected to collaborate with the General Services Manager to ensue that standards of service are concurrent with service level agreements and meet key performance indicators. 
 
You would also be expected to supervise all aspects of performance to your direct reports which include front of house colleagues, porters, mailroom operatives, cleaners, and receptionists. It is expected that you will role model safe behaviour whilst supporting and motivating your teams to deliver efficient and effective work through professional standards and health and safety procedures.
 
 
Main Responsibilities
 
  • To provide catering support services including food preparation, cooking and presentation, serving customers, till operating, storage and disposal of food and monitoring practices to ensure that company and legislative requirements are met.
  • To assist with the development, delivery and promotion of events and attractions to increase use of dining facilities.
  • To care for all available resources including equipment, materials and supplies as directed and be responsible for the handling and security of all stock, equipment, and cash within the department.
  • To maintain all areas of responsibility to the set service standards and in line with applicable service offer.
  • To comply with health and safety standards and maintain up to date knowledge of chemicals and food safety to enable you to deliver unit training.
  • To ensure effective communication with line manager, team, customer, and client organisation.
  • To continue to develop one’s own skills and knowledge within the position, including any required training courses.
  • Provide cover in other areas to cover absence, including stepping up to cover line manager responsibilities.
 
 
The Ideal Candidate
 
Our ideal candidate will have experience in handing customer feedback and acting on this to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction in a timely manner. They will understand the importance of hygiene and food safety and the importance of always working to professional standards, whilst adhering to health and safety procedures. The candidate will be a team player and has the ability to motivate and support a team in being as efficient and effective as possible.
 
Essential:
  • Previous experience of working in catering and/or Mess operational role.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
  • Able to work on own initiative within a team environment.
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards.
 
Desirable:
  • Previous experience of effectively supervising a team.
  • Leadership skills and knowledge.
  • Knowledge/qualification in Health & Safety and Food Safety.
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions.
