Food Support Assistant - Picking and Packing

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Food Support Assistant - Picking and Packing to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • Safe use of industrial catering equipment
  • Storing TVF foods after delivery
  • Decanting and labelling food items
  • Collection of patient menu orders on the day of service using a PDA,
  • Loading and regenerating food according to order
  • Cleaning of kitchen areas
  • Cleaning of industrial catering equipment
  • Preparation of ward food issues
  • Recording of temperatures and corrective actions in accordance with company policy
  • Printing via PC, picking and packing sheets
  • Stock rotation

Essential

  • Ability to use a PC
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Ability to work safely at all times
  • Ability to follow instruction at all times
  • Good customer service skills
  • High standards of personal Hygiene
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic literacy skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively

Sodexo are currently looking to add Kitchen Porter to our casual team at North Devon District Hospital, to deliver a world class guest experience. We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team Working alongside the restaurant team, you will be part of a dynamic group that aims to provide quality fresh food that not only exceeds our guest expectations, but is also in line with agreed company & legal standards. The Kitchen Porter is a vital role; making service possible and providing support for the whole restaurant team. They need to enjoy organising themselves well, communicating positively with the whole team and take pride in delivering sparkling clean equipment and premises in a fast paced environment. This role will be based on working Monday to Friday and could  including some weekend work. Role Responsibility

• Ensure the cleanliness standards of presentation of the back of house, front of house and all storage areas are excellent at all times

• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment to maximize efficiency & prolong life

• Assist in accurate record keeping, security and safe storage of all relevant deliveries

• Assist in the implementation all fire regulations and procedures and assist in evacuations as necessary

The Ideal Candidate

• Have excellent levels of personal hygiene and presentation standards

• Be consistently punctual for all scheduled shifts

• Follow the company and legal responsibilities of a food handler
