Job Introduction:
As a Food Service Assistant at Sodexo in Holyrood, Edinburgh, you are also a helping pair hands and a good mood motivator. This role includes the preparation and serving of our vibrant menu and ensuring all working areas are kept clean and tidy. What you'll do:
- Assist in setup and serving of hot and/or cold foods and drinks from counters within the Parliament Café
- Clean and sanitise equipment and workstations
- Serve and replenish food from counters during meal service times and then break down stations at the end of meal service times
- Prepare and serve barista made speciality coffees
- Interacts with customers in the serving, retail, and catering areas
- Be responsible for the opening and closing of the Parliament café in the absence of the café supervisor, this will include including cash handling.
What you bring:
- A can-do attitude and flexible approach to working
- Excellent attention to detail, plus good communication skills
- Previous experience in a similar role would be ideal, but not required
- General knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Understanding of basic food hygiene and cleaning
