Food Service Assistant –CITB, Erith, Kent
Weare seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join ourteam at CITB in Erith, Kent. In this role, you will support the smooth deliveryof catering services, including the preparation, presentation, and service offood and beverages, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, stockrotation, and cash handling. You will also assist in the upkeep and maintenanceof vending machines, ensuring high service levels are consistently delivered inline with company standards and contract specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to company standards.
- Provide customer service, including taking orders, serving food and beverages, operating tills, and supporting client hospitality.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, including cleaning equipment, dining areas, and kitchen facilities, following cleaning schedules.
- Manage stock and supplies, including loading service counters, filling and cleaning vending machines, ordering stores, and rotating stock.
- Support team operations, attending training, assisting at special functions, covering for colleagues, and promoting harmonious working relationships.
- Report and respond to customer feedback, incidents, and irregularities, ensuring safety and high service standards at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
- Food Safety Certificate and strong knowledge of Food Hygiene Standards.
- Proven customer service experience, ideally in a catering or hospitality environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customers, clients, and colleagues at all levels.
- Good numerical and verbal literacy, with effective time management and flexibility in work approach.
- Experience working in a standards- and compliance-driven environment.
