Fitness Instructor

Role Responsibility
- To assist in the management and development of the facilities including associated areas and activities.
- To comply with Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures.
- To ensure all equipment and services are properly maintained.
- To carry out all duties effectively, ensuring a continuously high level of service.
- To be responsible for the gym, the equipment and all aspects related to the gym and sports. To make sure all members are correctly screened, inducted and that suitable fitness programmes are issued and regularly reviewed and updated.
- To assist with the class schedule, making sure that classes meet with customer requirements and assist in the regular class timetable review.
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong customer service skills and experience with at least one year within the fitness industry.
- To be qualified to a minimum of REPs Level 2 Fitness Instructor.
- Service orientated attitude combined with innovative thinking.
- Knowledge and awareness of the Fitness Industry.
- Be self motivated and work under pressure to balance conflicting deadlines is essential.
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of customers and multi-service teams and service personnel to achieve results
- Experience teaching a wide range of exercise classes (e.g. Spin, circuits) is desirable
- Interest and experience organising and running sports leagues and competitions is desirable.
Package Description
We are recruiting for 2 Fitness & Wellbeing Ambassadors based at Unilever's head office in Leatherhead, Surrey. This role is for 20 hours per week operating the onsite gym services from Monday – Friday. Whilst the onsite gym will be open from 7am – 7pm each day it will only technically be staffed/manned during specific hours. This will require some level of shift pattern/shift rotation to cover the required opening hours.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Key Role
To be responsible for the Health & Wellbeing facility on a day-to-day basis – providing inductions and one to one session’s as required with the members.
To make sure all members are correctly screened, inducted and that suitable fitness programs are issued and regularly reviewed and updated.
Provide a varied class timetable and promote group exercise through a live and virtual timetable.
Promote Health & Wellbeing across the site with the target of getting everyone on site more active. This will include activity sessions within the offices, energizer sessions before meeting and encouraging individuals to be more active throughout the day.
Promote, organise and manage sports groups
Promote all Health & Wellbeing activities and use agreed internal and external social media platforms to increase awareness and promote wellness.
Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures are met.
To ensure all equipment and services are properly maintained
Customer Importance
Create an environment focused around the customer
Ensure all customer queries or comments are resolved in a positive manner
People responsibility
Ensure that you hold and maintain the relevant licenses and qualifications required to perform the role, such as REP’s
Participate in all regular meetings to ensure good communication with all other team members
Health and Safety
Ensure the Health safety and welfare of all people on site at all times
To comply with all recommendation that are issued by the client, Healthworks, Environmental Health Officers, Soft Services or General Services Manager.
To take a full involvement with risk assessments and COSHH regulations throughout the facility
Implement any agreed Action Plan and risk reduction
Must be 1st Aid trained
Management Responsibilities
To become proficient in the general operation of the facility, including plant, equipment, booking App and customer service.
Assist with the coordination of any equipment service requirements
Promote all activities.
Maintain the facilities to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all time.
Remain customer focused.
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
There will be a requirement for working an irregular shift rota system, which will include evenings.
All client PT sessions on site must take place outside of core working hours.
On occasions there maybe a requirement to attend training courses. These maybe at other sites/away from your normal working site.
Take part in any site operations meetings as required.
Assist with shift coverage in cases of annual leave & sickness.
