Facilities Support Officer

Job Introduction

As Facilities Support Officer at Sodexo at Trinity Square Student Accommodation in Gateshead, you are also a problem solver, multi-tasker, and safety promoter. You will be on hand to deliver a courteous, professional, customer-focused out-of-hours support service within a student accommodation site that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide out-of-hours coverage of the site help desk and reception to enable residents to receive prompt support at the point of need.
  • Respond promptly to incidents and emergency situations.
  • Monitor CCTV to ensure the security of the site and prevent unlawful access.
  • Conduct high-visibility pro-active patrols of all parts of the site to reassure residents and identify potential and emerging issues.
  • Respond to minor maintenance issues or escalate through the appropriate process for more serious issues so as to minimise inconvenience to residents.
  • Manage incidents outside of hours, such as fire alarms, intruders, anti-social behaviour, first aid, etc.
  • Provide pastoral support to students in need, or provide appropriate advice on where to seek support.

What you bring:

  • SIA Licence (Manned Guarding/Door Supervision)
  • First Aid at Work
  • A minimum of 2 years Frontline frontline security industry experience
  • Experience working with young people (17–25)
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service, preferably within the hospitality or education sectors
