Facilities Engineer (Reactive)

Job Introduction

Standard working hours: Mon-Fri 0800 – 1630 (40 Hours)
Weekend working required (1 Saturday or Sunday site attendance, 0800 – 1630), typically once a month.

What you'll do:

Respond reactively to calls in a timely manner, meeting KPIs for response and completion time.
Balance Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) with reactive work to maintain positive KPI status.
Supervise sub-contractors to site standards, authorizing and issuing necessary paperwork.
Drive proactive actions to minimize reactive calls and enhance customer satisfaction.
Order materials and maintain effective stock control mechanisms, particularly for AHU filters.

Main Assignments:
Carry out assigned Planned Maintenance within your skillset, including AHU filter changes, emergency lighting checks, and PAT.
Reactively respond to electrical issues, making safe and conducting basic electrical repairs.
Perform basic plumbing repairs, such as changing and repairing taps, sinks, toilets, and showers.
Undertake basic building fabric repairs to an acceptable standard.
Assist with Health and Safety compliance, including the preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

What you bring:

Recognised training in relevant disciplines, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Skills in hands-on maintenance and knowledge of a wide range of building equipment, services, and fabric.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with computer-based applications.
IOSH Working Safely or equivalent (or a willingness to undertake and complete successfully within 3 months).
