As a Night Domestic Facilities Coordinator based at Colchester Hospital , you’ll be a key leader in our Domestic Services team, supporting our mission to deliver a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff. What You’ll Do
Lead and coordinate a team of domestic and food service staff to deliver a consistently high-quality service
Monitor cleanliness standards in line with the National Specification for Cleanliness (2023), ensuring prompt remedial actions
Be a visible and approachable leader, acting as the first point of contact for ward staff, matrons, and service users
Manage day-to-day operations including work schedules, absence management, PDRs, and team development
Oversee supplies and resources, minimising waste and promoting sustainability
Investigate incidents and ensure all health and safety protocols are followed, promoting our Zero Harm culture
Welcome and support new team members, encouraging a positive and inclusive work environment
What You’ll Bring
Experience in leading domestic or facilities teams in a healthcare or similar environment
Excellent communication and people skills – you build rapport, motivate teams, and collaborate effectively
A strong understanding of infection control principles and cleaning standards
Organised, proactive, and resilient under pressure
Confident using systems for performance monitoring, incident reporting (SALUS), and resource planning
