As an Event Manager, you will support the Senior Event Manager and Head of Convention Events in planning, coordinating and delivering a diverse calendar of high-profile events. You’ll manage the full event lifecycle—from operational planning to execution and review—ensuring every detail meets client expectations, venue standards and Sodexo Live!’s commitment to excellence.

You’ll lead and motivate a large and varied team, including Floor Managers, Supervisors and Casual Team Members, ensuring that every guest enjoys exceptional service and every event runs smoothly, safely and profitably

What You'll Do: 

  • Deliver consistent operational standards in line with client and company expectations
  • Own your allocated events from concept to completion, ensuring flawless delivery
  • Work closely with the Senior Event Manager, Head of Convention Events and Account Management team to ensure all operational requirements are met
  • Prepare event spaces to meet specifications and ensure smooth and compliant close-down procedures
  • Maintain strong client relationships, providing clear communication and outstanding service throughout each event
  • Lead, coach and develop junior managers and casual teams to achieve exceptional performance
  • Manage financial controls, cash-up procedures and due diligence
  • Ensure team members are fully briefed, trained and motivated ahead of every event
  • Support talent and succession planning through structured development and performance reviews
  • Ensure legal compliance across food safety, allergens, health and safety, COSHH, environmental standards and venue policies
  • Champion a positive, collaborative team culture that supports high performance

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience as an Events Manager or in a similar role within hospitality, catering or large-scale event operations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience managing large, diverse teams in a high-pressure, customer-facing setting
  • Excellent understanding of event logistics and operational delivery
  • A track record of delivering high-quality hospitality services
  • Ability to manage multiple workloads and priorities
  • Confidence in meeting financial targets and managing budgets
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead calmly and effectively
  • A passion for creating memorable experiences for clients and guests
  • A Personal Licence is desirable
