Job Introduction

 

We have an exciting new role for an Estates Officer to join our Sodexo team onsite in Colchester. This is a truly hybrid role where you will be responsible for the efficient and profitable delivery of Sodexo's contractual obligations, including the delivery of projects inline with budgets, ensuring continual compliance, technical inspection, and providing support for our onsite facilities.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for delivering latent defect related and other, projects and supporting this process with key stakeholder engagement – Client, Authority, Sodexo, 3rd parties
  • Responsible for certain Planned, Reactive functions, both Statutory and Non- statutory relating to the Estates assets for example Grounds, Waste, Infrastructure, Structure, Facilities etc. on time, to budget and specification, and in line with contract KPI’s
  • Minimising / mitigating liabilities to Sodexo
  • Ensure the completion of contract reactive tasks within permitted time frames so that punitive deductions are minimized
  • Ensure the timely updating of the Management Information System (QFM/Cobra) with work completion data
  • Managing the coordination of building access /projects work with the stakeholders
  • Ensuring that the delivered service is deemed value for money in terms of time quality and cost
  • Identify innovation and best practice with view to implementation

The Ideal Candidate

​​What we are looking for

  • Facilities Management/Technical qualifications in a relevant discipline demonstrating a wide and developing knowledge base within all areas /disciplines  
  • Proven professional experience handling the end-to-end management of projects
  • Experience working within a PFI framework and operating Safe Systems or Work
  • Excellent communication skills with strong people management skills, and the ability to interface at all levels within the organisation including customers, clients and suppliers
  • Ability to be an effective team player within an Estates/Technical Services team
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to remain calm under pressure, and capable of working to own initiative,  demonstrating a high level of self-management
  • IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office. Experience with using CAFM systems and data management systems.eg QFM/Global Maximo

 

Where we can be flexible

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent and a good understanding of managing H&S
  • Prince 2 certification or equivalent 
  • Experience of building a team would be desirable
