Engineering Manager

Job Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sodexo’s Food Manufacturing facility – a market leading manufacturer and supplier of cook chilled and frozen ready meals for customers within the Corporate, Health care, Education and Leisure industries.  

We are seeking an engineering professional to join the team at Tillery Valley Foods in Abertillery.   Reporting to the Operations Director, and leading a team of 11 multidiscipline engineers, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for all aspects of engineering and maintenance on site including buildings, services and manufacturing assets. 

Key to your success will be the ability to build relationships at all levels and lead, motivate and inspire your team to deliver improvements in engineering performance

Role Responsibility

  • Leadership, development and coaching of Engineers to raise site performance.
  • Develop and implement the planned maintenance system.
  • Project management of new equipment and technology into the site, on time and on budget.
  • Driving process improvements across equipment, material and product performance.
  • Practical problem solving ability and Root Cause Analysis experience
  • Forecast annual engineering budget and manage spending.
  • Ensuring your team operate safe systems work and management of 3rd party site engineering works.   
  • Promoting GMP engineering standards across site, ensuring compliance to 3rd party customer audits & statutory inspections.  

The Ideal Candidate

A time served Engineer, educated to Degree/Diploma level or with proven managerial experience; ideally candidates will have worked in a BRC accredited food manufacturing environment and have systems knowledge. You have excellent motivation and leadership skills with hands-on management style.
