Electrical Technician
Job Introduction

You will be the specialist who will provide technical advice and support for the maintenance of equipment, building fabric, and utility services across the Wythenshawe Hospital estate. What you’ll do:
- Will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, direct management of directly employed trade staff and specialist sub-contractors.
- Will have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Will ensure that all Statutory and Non-Statutory PPM work is carried out and is fully compliant with legislation, codes of practices, manufactures recommendations, HTMs, HBNs, H&SE recommendations, and HVCA.
- Will produce rosters to ensure planned and reactive maintenance activities are assigned to DEL and sub-contractors.
- Will carry out risk assessments for each maintenance activity.
- Will carry out a minimum of 5 percent checks on live and completed works.
- Will be the Authorised Person Electrical who performs all switching operations on the regular standby generator on load tests in line with protocols. Arrange staffing levels and ensure effective communication is maintained with all staff throughout the tests.
What you bring:
- Fully qualified electrician, ideally holding a City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualification and post-apprentice experience in a similar field.
- City & Guilds 2391 Electrical Testing & Inspection.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition IET Regs.
- Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
Desirable experience/qualifications:
- City & Guilds 2396
- HNC or HND
- Experience of working in a healthcare environment.
- Experience of working with backup power systems e.g. Generators and uninterrupted power supply systems.
- Ability to use Microsoft applications and PDA

Package Description

- Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 07:30 - 16:00 or 08:00 - 16:30
