Health and Safety Advisor

Location: Kinsale, Ireland (occasional travel to other sites required)

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (39 hours per week)

Salary: €55,000 per annum + Sodexo Benefits

 

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to help drive a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance across our operations in Kinsale and, when required, other Irish sites.

You’ll act as the main point of contact for all health, safety, food safety, business continuity, risk, and environmental matters—partnering closely with operational teams and client stakeholders. Your role will ensure best practice is consistently applied across service lines including catering, cleaning, technical, reception, and GxP environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture across all service lines.
  • Provide expert EHS guidance and support to operational teams.
  • Review, implement, and maintain site-specific health and safety policies.
  • Deliver effective training and promote understanding of safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and site walks to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure all incidents and near misses are reported promptly and fully investigated.
  • Develop and maintain risk assessments and safe working procedures.
  • Collaborate with the wider HSEQ community across Ireland to share best practice and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare monthly performance updates, tracking key metrics such as KPIs and Lost Time Injury Rates (LTIR).

 

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Level 8 diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience with risk management, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience supporting business continuity planning.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergency situations outside of standard hours.
