Domestic Manager

As a Domestic Manager at Sodexo based on site at University Hospital of North Staffordshire, you are a natural leader and a champion of excellence. Your role is vital to the success of our operations, as you take on day-to-day responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of our domestic services. By leading and inspiring your team, driving innovation, and maintaining excellent relationships with our clients, you play a key role in helping Sodexo achieve its mission of improving quality of life for everyone we serve.
Role Responsibility
What you’ll do:
- Drive strong performance-based culture, that delivers high cleaning standards for Sodexo and our client.
- Lead operational change projects on behalf of the department driving operational improvement through innovation and an improved staff engagement.
- Deliver a strong management review and control process with the supervisor team, including the monthly review and reporting process.
- Take an active role in client management and performance management on site.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the senior managers
- Active member of the onsite management team, which covers a 7 day a week service, to support the Senior Management team in the strategic decision making across Soft FM Services.
- Work with the relevant Zonal Managers to identify risks, issues and opportunities and ensure that the operations team have plans in place to address them.
- Day to day management of the operational budget, monitoring variations and investigating inconsistencies. Notifying relevant parties of any concerns or disputes with clear plans in place to resolve.
- Lead service for administration, recruitment, talent succession and payroll requirements.
- To have an excellent understanding of current health and safety regulations to then enforce these across the site
- Overseeing of the training requirements within the site taking into consideration changes in legislation and best practice
The Ideal Candidate
What you bring:
You will be able to demonstrate an inclusive leadership style and be adaptable, flexible, and resilient, with a proven track record of leading, managing, and developing teams. The successful candidate will have strong people management skills, including general HR skills in recruitment, training, and managing employee performance, including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Experience of working in a management role within the Soft FM service industry with specific technical skills in the field of cleaning.
- Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills and able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
- Management knowledge of health & safety and food safety
- Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Able to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
- Proven experience of managing client relationships and ability to develop new business opportunities
- Qualifications in HSWA, IOSH, food safety and COSHH.
