Job Introduction

As a Housekeeper / Patient Services Assistant / Domestic, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a high-quality, patient-first service for this office building which is part of Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

What you’ll do:
Deliver daily cleaning services across public spaces, offices, and restrooms
Assist with meal preparation and delivery in line with food hygiene and dietary requirements
Support patient hydration and wellbeing through timely provision of water and refreshments
Handle waste safely and hygienically, following Trust and national guidelines
Use cleaning equipment safely and effectively, complying with COSHH and infection control protocols
Provide a friendly, helpful presence for patients, staff, and visitors at all times
Replenish essential items (soap, paper towels, toilet rolls) and assist with stock control
Ensure all activity is carried out in line with NHS Cleaning Standards and Sodexo procedures
What you bring:
Basic literacy and numeracy
Good communication skills and a professional, caring attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work a flexible shift pattern including weekends
Ability to handle physical aspects of the role
Commitment to infection control and safe working practices
Respect for confidentiality and patient dignity
Openness to training and development opportunities
previous housekeeping or domestic work preferred
Experience in healthcare or NHS environments ideal
