Diet Chef

About the role  
At Sodexo we are passionate about food and we place our patients at the heart of everything we do. Our talented chefs use their passion to create beautiful dishes with the finest ingredients, while being sensitive to nutritional needs and environmental impact. To provide this great service, we have a team of passionate Chefs behind us and we currently have a vacancy for a Trainee Diet Chef to join us!  

You will work with our Culinary Teams and Dieticians to ensure our patients on special diets get the very best food they need. You will always prepare food with due care and attention to meet special dietary requirements (such as low fibre, no added salt) always taking into account each patients needs.

A few things about you  
We are looking for someone with a passion for food and innovation, who is a great team player. Your communication skills need to be top notch and your attention to detail second to none. Our patients are at the heart of what we do so it’s important that our service delivery is always at the forefront.

You must be a qualified chef who holds Basic Food Hygiene and Health and Safety Certificates. You must have experience and knowledge of Special Diets and allergen awareness.

Sodexo embeds a strong Safety culture in everything we do so there will be company procedures and policies to adhere to.

Package Description

Birmingham Children's Hospital 

  • 37.5 hours per week (alternate weekends)
  • The diet section is open 9:00-17:00.
  • The starting rate is £9.90 and this will increase with experience and completion of training
  • The role has the extensive Sodexo benefits package.
