Deputy General Services Manager

Job Introduction

As the Deputy General Services Manager at Sodexo, Johnson & Johnson Depuy in Ringaskiddy, Cork, you will support the General Services Manager in managing across various service lines, ensuring service excellence, customer satisfaction, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will play a key role in managing the site in the absence of the General Services Manager, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the development of business strategies to meet client needs.

What you’ll do:
  • Support the General Services Manager in managing service lines, including catering, cleaning, and security teams, to drive service excellence and ensure compliance with client contract requirements.
  • Manage the site in the absence of the General Services Manager, supporting the development of business strategies to meet current and emerging client needs.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and implement new initiatives within operations to demonstrate forward-moving business innovations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and processes, monitoring and escalating any non-compliance or weaknesses.
  • Provide support to team leads to ensure work is carried out to standards, policies, and procedures, and manage staff issues as needed.
  • Identify and make recommendations for continuous operational improvement, contributing to business growth opportunities.

  • Proven experience in managing large sites with multidisciplined teams.
  • Exceptional client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to develop commercially viable solutions based on rigorous techniques to understand client and contractual needs.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple workloads and shifting priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and employees at all levels.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative within a team environment.
  • Proven track record of initiating and leading demanding business change programs.
