Deputy Domestic Manager (Interim) - Healthcare

To provide this great service, we have a talented team behind us, and we currently have a fantastic vacancy for a Deputy Domestic Manager to join us on an Interim basis at Queens Hospital, Romford!

You will be an excellent people Manager as you will support with the operational management responsibility for the Domestic Services Department. Managing high volume staff numbers, you will adopt a highly organised, visible, team development approach to your busy and varied workload. In this role you will support with the overall management of Supervisors and Domestic Staff ensuring they are technically competent and fully engaged in their role. You will ensure patients receive care in an environment that is clean, safe, caring and welcoming all of the time whilst also ensuring that the risk of healthcare associated infections is minimised through developing, implementing and monitoring infection control practices.

Role Responsibility
- Management and delivery of the domestic services, including general administration and office management duties
- Management and delivery of the HR related activity/ learning and development for domestic employees
- Management of the domestic team, including labour management, ensuring employees always adhere to the Sodexo Code of Conduct, and management of disciplinary issues.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic patient environment in line with the National Specifications for Cleanliness
- Manage a team of domestic cleaners
- Control the deployment of labour and consumption of materials and consumables
- Deliver a high quality, timely, responsive, cost-effective and pro-active domestic service that meets the needs of our service users
- Be courteous, helpful and efficient, ensuring high standards of customer care and demonstrating commitment to a positive patient experience
- Seek to raise standards and improve service quality to ensure full compliance with the National Specifications for Cleanliness 2021
- Maintain effective, meaningful, positive and clear communications with Ward Managers, matrons and service users.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience of managing a diverse workforce in a multiple services environment
- Experience in the development and managing of staff
- The ability to show empathy, care and compassion
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, colleagues and clients
- Recognised cleaning qualification: BICS, NVQ or other.
- IOSH or NEBOSH certificate
- Capable of delivering practical training to a high standard
- Experience of working with budgets and financial targets.
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Computer literate
Package Description
£ 32,000pa - £35,000pa + great benefits
Location: Queens Hospital, Romford
Fixed term full time 6 months contract
Work Pattern – 40 hrs pw Monday to Friday with flexibility for occasional weekend
