Deputy Catering Manager
Job Introduction
Independents by Sodexo have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Catering Manager to join our talented teams at prestigious independent schools in the Ascot/Windsor areas. As the Deputy Catering Manager, you will effectively support the Catering Manager with leading the catering FOH team to deliver a best-in-class catering service ensuring the prompt and efficient service of all catering and hospitality at these prestigious schools. With excellent management and hospitality experience, you will ensure the efficient preparation of high-quality food.

- Assist with the day to day running of the catering department covering the restaurant, café/ tuck & hospitality.
- Support with the effective management for all the staff
- To assist with ensuring recruitment, government & company compliance, legislations, health & safety, budgets & all staff training is accomplished in the times required.
- Work closely with other departments in the business
- Deputising for the Catering Manager in their absence
- Manage Sodexo’s food management systems
- Liaising with other departments on promotions & events
- To motivate & provide training to the restaurant, and hospitality team
- Dealing with complaints where appropriate and referring these to senior managers when necessary
- Monitoring sales trends, profitability etc in consultation with the finance team
- Good communication & interpersonal skills
- A good team player and able to work on own initiative
- Flexible & Diplomatic with a positive “can do” attitude
- Good business & commercial acumen
- Strong organisation and planning skills combined with a high level of initiative
- Highly motivated with attention to detail
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on client & customer services
- Strong leadership & motivating skills
- Financial, budgeting & stock-taking skills, knowledge of food, food hygiene (including HACCP) and food preparation.
