Your Role as a Custody Administrator
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Custody Administrator to join our team at HMP Bronzefield. This role plays a vital part in supporting operational colleagues to deliver purposeful custody planning and ensure each individual’s sentence is managed accurately and in line with legal requirements.
As Custody Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, checking court warrants, supporting release procedures, and handling sensitive documentation. You'll liaise daily with internal departments and external agencies, providing timely and efficient administrative support across a range of custody processes.
Working at the heart of the establishment, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills within a fast-paced and supportive team. Your professionalism, discretion and commitment to accuracy will help drive our mission to support safe and effective rehabilitation.

The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
- Previous experience in an administrative role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database systems.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- A team player with a reliable and proactive attitude.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- High standard of written communication.
Desirable:
- A customer-focused approach to internal and external service delivery.
- Knowledge of prison operations or experience working within a secure environment.
