HMP Forest bank are currently recruiting for a Custody Administration Assistant
This is a great part opportunity to work as part of a multi-tasked administration team performing a variety of duties to ensure the smooth running of the function, providing a quality administrative service to the prison. You will be tasked with effective archiving, retention and destruction of residents records including safeguarding against incidents of information security breach. You will also handle telephone and face to face queries, incoming post and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.
HMP Forest Bank serves the courts of Greater Manchester and maintains strong links to the local community with a focus on resettlement. We aim to deliver quality of life services and support people to change their lives for the better.

We support people released from custody through innovative partnerships in substance misuse services in Bury and Oldham, working with people to maintain recovery and lead law-abiding lives.
As well as the 16 residential units on site, there is a healthcare centre, gym, library, workshop complex, visits hall, chaplaincy and kitchen. The prison’s capacity stands at 1,460, holding adult men both on remand or sentenced and young prisoners between the ages of 18-21 years.

Main Responsibilities
- To provide general administration support with a focus on the preparation and maintenance of files.
- To manage administrative work and filing.
- To manage the effective archiving, retention and destruction of residents records. Keeping information stored safely. Safeguarding against incidents of information security breach.
- To deal with telephone and face to face queries.
- To deal with incoming post
- Correspond to internal and external stakeholders
The Ideal Candidate
- Good level of qualifications, administrative skills and experience.
- To be committed to personal development.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
- Organisational skills
- Good eye for detail
Package Description
£23,464.34 - £24,715.74 per annum
37.5 hours per week
