Commercial Manager & Quantity Surveyor

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager Quantity Surveyor to join the corporate services commercial team.

As the Commercial Manager you will drive saving requirements focus to our sub-contract supply chain and extract value by tendering and negotiating works packages on an aggregate basis where they may have previously been negotiated of a discrete local basis.

The Commercial function is broadly responsible for the management of Business Risk, Commercial Governance, Contract Negotiation, Commercial relationship management & Commercial training. The function is also involved in various projects which can include assisting the business with implementing specific strategy or savings realisation projects.

Role Responsibility

• Supporting the Senior Commercial Manger/Quantity Surveyor in achieving the desired procurement outcomes.
• Initial negotiation/ savings plan to achieve year one savings. This has been started by the existing team.
• Running tender actions with a pre-qualified supply chain
• Assisting with Formulating the strategic plan for aggregating the existing sub contract spend into works packages- if feasible.
• Accurately drafting sub contract agreements to reflect the various scope, policy, KPI and pricing requirements of each site/account. 
• This role will focus on circa £40M of existing sub-contract relationships and will be responsible for the tendering and contracting of the sub-contracted works in line with Sodexo and client requirements,
•  Improving our sub-contractor relationship management and risk profile.
• Provide our clients with assurance that their scope, policies and requirements have accurately been contracted to our supply chain, whilst minimising risk for Sodexo.
• The role will require a high degree of ability in Stakeholder management specifically with the various Account P&L holders, central procurement & the Corporate Services Exec. 

The Ideal Candidate

• Relevant experience of commercial management, procurement or quantity surveying
• 4+ years experience and currently operating at a demonstrably similar level.
• Holds a relevant degree.
• Demonstrable experience in handling large supply chain processes.
• Proven ability in stake holder management.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage own time and be accountable for the outcomes agreed. 
• This is a UK and ROI based role which will involve a degree of flexibility on travel where required.
