Commercial Finance Manager

Job Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Commercial Finance Manager at Sodexo!

The right candidate will act as the finance lead for all business development activities. You'll supports all sales and bidding activity to ensure sales propositions and tender responses are competitive, aligned to customer needs and commercially sound for Sodexo.

Role Responsibility

  • Support the Sales/Finance Team in continually increasing our ability to win new business by using financial approaches as a sales differentiator and creating competitive financial proposals. 

  • Work with subject matter experts to produce underlying cost models which are robust and solution specific. 

  • Consolidate cost models to produce accurate bid models and produce appropriate internal models for review and client facing responses which are bid compliant. 

  • Support in the retail model creation and scenario options. 

  • Owns and maintains bid models that drive accurate and competitive pricing.  

  • Take ownership to create and manage internal information for benchmarking analysis. 

  • Be the financial support, and lead in some direct customer interactions and face to face customer meetings that relate to new business opportunities. 

  • Take the lead role in the development of UKIC (UK investment committee) and GIC (Group investment committee) financial inputs whenever required. 

The Ideal Candidate

Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years post-qualified in a finance role related to commercial or operational finance. 

  • An understanding of segment priorities and key cost/performance drivers, an advantage. 

  • Track record of delivering successful results, and finding pragmatic solutions, in a complex matrix environment with multiple stakeholders 

Competencies: 

  • Strong financial acumen and financial modelling skills. 

  • Process and progress driven, based on factual analytics. 

  • Pro-activity and reactivity, combined with a strong sense of constructive challenge, thereby assisting Commercial and Business Development teams in building solutions. 

  • Resilient and excellent organisational skills and ability to respect deadlines. 

  • Flexible and pragmatic, able to deal with complexity, and present information in a clear coherent way to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. 

Skills: 

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA fully qualified or equivalent, and is a professional member of their professional body. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and demonstrated ability to challenge assumptions and articulate risks and alternative scenarios. 

  • Quick learner, enjoys new challenges, and fast paced environment with short timelines.
