Cleaning Operative

Role Responsibility

  Carry out all hygiene tasks required by the hygiene rota in each respective area that has been as-signed.

  Prepare and be responsible for any cleaning equipment used to carry out hygiene duties

  Maintain, replenish and be accountable for stocks of cleaning materials

  Be fully conversant with the safe preparation, handling, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants used in conjunction with your hygiene duties

  Be fully conversant with the requirements of both the MCA and FDA with respect to Good Manu-facturing Practice and hygiene standards

  Remove general rubbish from toilets and canteen areas or any area that you are working in and dispose in the correct waste stream

  Clean / remove visible marks and smears from walls  

  Report immediately any incident or accident such as fire, theft, loss, damage

  Cover in other areas during periods of holiday and sickness

  Maintain a clean hygienic area in kitchen areas ensuring the tops and front of units are clean and smear free 

  Carry out any reasonable task as directed by management

  Ensure that all equipment if kept scrupulously clean and maintained in good, safe working order.  Any faults to be reported to the line manager

  Clean ledges and edges

  Clean WC, shower rooms / cubicles including urinals and wash hand basins 

  Clean Changing room areas including floors using manual or mechanical aids, ledges and edges 

  Wipe tables in canteen areas

  Remove marks and smears from mirrors and buff clean 

The Ideal Candidate

  Have all round cleaning experience

  Be able to work on own initiative and manage own time

  Be able to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and management team

  Have good knowledge of H&S and COSHH

  Excellent customer service skills and safety practices

  High Level of personal hygiene and appearance paying particular attention to hands and finger nails, hair and general appearance.

  Adherence to Ardagh Glass Drug and Alcohol policy

  Comply with company and Ardagh Glass statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work health and safety, hygiene, cleanliness and COSHH

  To deliver a consistent level of service within the company’s standards and Sodexo specifications

  Participate in any necessary training and team meetings as required to complete job to the compa-ny and client standards.

  This job description is not an exhaustive list of duties and the post holder will be required to undertake any reasonable duties discussed and directed by the line manager. 

Package Description

This position is for weekends only 2.5 hours per day 20 hours per month.
