Cleaning Operative

Job Introduction

As a Cleaning Operative at Sodexo in DEFRA Border Control Post, Dover, Kent, CT16 3PT.  You are responsible to provide effective delivery of cleaning services to the client organisation. You'll interact with our clients daily, and you'll be improving the quality of life in everyone you meet! Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. What you’ll do:  

  • Maintain all areas of responsibility to the set standard of cleanliness within the timeframe given, always complying with standards laid down in the work schedule.
  • Provide cleaning services support across the site including using cleaning equipment, materials and supplies as directed.
  • Continue to develop one’s own skills and knowledge within the position, including any required training courses.
  • Maintain excellent client/customer relationships.
  • Care for all available resources including equipment, materials and supplies as directed.
  • Report any near-miss occurrences, accidents, or faulty equipment to management.
  • Ensure effective communication with line manager, team, customer, and client organisation.
  • Maintain all areas of responsibility to set service standards and in line with applicable service offer.
  • Use appropriate equipment to clean all floors.
  • Ensure all specific tasks and areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards. This includes daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual tasks.
  • Take part in employee training to develop and maintain a full understanding of Health and Safety, COSHH, cleaning methods, cleaning training and site-specific processes and procedures.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment. 
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail.

Able to perform manual handling duties that may be required in line with certain cleaning equipment and tasks

Package Description

6 month- fixed term contract - this will begin once compliance checks have returned and a start date has been confirmed.

  • 20 hours per week 
  • Monday - Friday (can be flexible with start and finish times)
  • £11.45 per hour 
  • Free onsite Car parking
