Job Introduction

Role Responsibility

 

  • Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards.
  • Use floor buffers and scrubber driers.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
  • Ensure that the safety signs are used appropriately at all times.
  • Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean, tidy and stocked ensuring equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times.
  • Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client and Sodexo.
  • Draw to the attention of the Cleaning team leader/Deputy GSM or GSM any potential hazards on site or infringements of Health & Safety Legislation.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is kept clean & maintained in safe working order.
  • Comply with all Company & client policies and statutory regulations including Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your work place.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Previous cleaning experience
  • Experience working to a cleaning schedule.

Desirable

  • A relevant qualification, including NVQ’s BICS’c or COPCS or COSHH.
  • Experience of extensive use of floor buffers and heavy scrubber driers.
  • Experience of working within a team.
  • Experience of working within a similar environment / industry.

Title:                            Cleaner

 

Place of Work:                        Unilever IT Services

 

General Purpose:        To proactively maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the building, complete all daily, weekly and periodic tasks and response cleaning

 

Hours of Work:           As per Contract of Employment

                                    Monday – Friday

                                    14.00 – 18.00

Holiday and absence cover required

 

Rate of Pay:                Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays – Overtime as required (minimum 1 weeks notice)

 

Responsible to:          General Services Manager/Data Centre Supervisor

 

Liaise with:                 All staff, visitors and clients    

 

          

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

 

  1. To have a full knowledge of all areas which have to be covered in the course of duty.
  2. To ensure that all specific areas are cleaned to the standard required.  All daily, weekly and periodic tasks are carried out as required.
  3. To ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard.  Check all areas for defects and report to Manager if outside assistance is required.
  4. To have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents.
  5. Adhere to COSHH and usage of company specified chemicals only
  6. To ensure all cleaning equipment is kept scrupulously clean and maintained in good safe working order.
  7. To be aware of material expenditure and avoid unnecessary waste.
  8. To report any maintenance defects to the Supervisor.
  9. To observe Client and Sodexo Ltd company rules at all times and comply with recommendations from Safegard and client H&S team.
  10. To observe all Client and company fire safety regulations and promote good safety habits and methods of work.
  11. To maintain high standards of operational hygiene.
  12. Replenish hot beverage ingredients
  13. To deal with complaints immediately and report to your Supervisor.
  14. To maintain strict security precautions to safeguard equipment and inform your Supervisor of any shortages, breakages or discrepancies found.
  15. Report all accidents and near misses.
  16. Report any incident or accident relating to fire, loss, theft, damage etc to one of the Sodexo Managers.
  17. Check all electrical cables, used by the Sodexo team, for wear and tear on a daily basis and report any defects if necessary.
  18. Assist Reception with ad hoc duties when required.
  19. To adhere to any company policies and procedures such as use of mobile phone and absence reporting.
  20. Restricted areas not to be entered unless authorised to do so.
  21. Attend any meetings and training courses as may be required.
  22. To maintain the company and clients high level of confidentiality at all times.
  23. Any reasonable request from your Manager or Supervisor.
  24. There is a requirement for to work between the 3 sites of Bromborough, Chester Gates and Unity House when required
