Cleaner – Fixed Term (6 Months)
Location: Phillips 66 Humber Refinery, Eastfield Road, South Killingholme, DN40 3DW
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £12.70 per hour
The Role
Sodexo is looking for a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our team at Phillips 66 Humber Refinery. This is a fixed-term role for six months, offering an opportunity to contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across the site.
You will be responsible for general cleaning duties, ensuring all areas meet the high standards expected in a professional environment. Flexibility and attention to detail are key, as you may occasionally provide cover for sickness, holidays, or special events.
Key Responsibilities
General cleaning of on-site locations, including offices, cabins, and communal areas.
Clean and maintain toilets, kitchens, and mess rooms, replenishing consumables where necessary.
Sweep, mop, and maintain floors, fridges, microwaves, and kitchen areas.
Collect litter and manage recycling across the site, including paper, cardboard, cups, batteries, and tin cans.
Ensure all cleaning equipment is used safely and maintained in good working order.
Follow COSHH guidelines for safe use of chemicals.
Display appropriate safety signage at all times and report hazards promptly.
Maintain tidiness of cleaning stores and secure storage of chemicals and equipment.
Attend safety awareness courses, health & safety meetings, and participate in site safety programs.
Complete documentation as required and provide cover in other areas when needed.
Comply with all Sodexo and client site policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
Person Specification
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Previous experience in catering, food service, or hospitality is advantageous.
- Excellent timekeeping, reliability, and flexibility to work additional hours when required.
Friendly, approachable, and professional manner with strong customer service skills.
High level of personal hygiene and professional appearance.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
