Location: Fortrea Clinical Research Unit, Drapers Yard, Holbeck, Leeds, LS11 9EH
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (any 5 out of 7, including weekends)
Shift Pattern: Early (07:00–15:00), Late (14:00–22:00), Weekend (12:00–20:00)
Hourly Rate: £13.01

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Chef to join our team at Fortrea Clinical Research Unit in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment, preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that support patient wellbeing and vital clinical research.

Main Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present meals to agreed standards and specifications
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness at all times
Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and HACCP procedures
Support stock control, ordering, and waste reduction initiatives
Communicate effectively with colleagues, service users, and management
Work flexibly across early, late, and weekend shifts as required
Take ownership of your section, ensuring consistent quality and presentation
Ideal Candidate
Holds relevant catering qualifications (as detailed in the job description)
Previous experience in a similar chef or catering role, ideally within healthcare or clinical settings
Sound knowledge of food safety, allergens, and HACCP requirements
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Reliable, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Pre-Employment Requirements
This position requires a DBS check prior to starting.
