Location: Fortrea Clinical Research Unit, Drapers Yard, Holbeck, Leeds, LS11 9EH
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Any 5 out of 7, including weekends)
Shift Pattern: Early (07:00–15:00), Late (14:00–22:00), Weekend (12:00–20:00)
Hourly Rate: £13.01
Job Introduction
We’re currently recruiting a Chef to join our culinary team at Fortrea Clinical Research Unit in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment, where you’ll be creating nourishing meals that support patient care and research operations. Main Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present meals in line with agreed menus and quality standards
Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene procedures
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas at all times
Support stock control, ordering, and waste reduction initiatives
Communicate effectively with service users, team members, and management
Work independently and as part of a team, including lone working where required
Maintain high standards of food presentation and portion control
Ideal Candidate
Holds relevant catering qualifications (as detailed in the Job Description)
Experience in a similar chef or catering role, preferably in healthcare or clinical settings
Strong knowledge of food safety, allergens, and HACCP procedures
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working a flexible rota including weekends
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage workload independently
Pre-Employment Requirements
This role requires a DBS check prior to employment
