What you’ll do:
Prepare, cook and serve a variety of standard and special diet meals in line with menu plans
Ensure every meal meets Sodexo and NHS quality, safety, and presentation standards
Support the delivery of patient and visitor food services, including front-of-house when required
Supervise kitchen porters and catering assistants as needed
Maintain food safety and hygiene in line with Sodexo policy and legal standards
Minimise food waste through efficient preparation and portion control
Participate in kitchen cleaning routines and maintain accurate records
Support new team members through our “buddy” induction programme
Follow all relevant health & safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies
What you bring:
Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent)
Experience in catering for large-scale or special dietary needs
Effective communication and customer care skills
High standards of personal hygiene
Empathy and professionalism in a healthcare setting
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Desirable
Previous experience in NHS or healthcare catering
Familiarity with infection control and food allergen policies
Manual Handling training
