What you’ll do:

• Prepare, cook and serve a variety of standard and special diet meals in line with menu plans

• Ensure every meal meets Sodexo and NHS quality, safety, and presentation standards

• Support the delivery of patient and visitor food services, including front-of-house when required

• Supervise kitchen porters and catering assistants as needed

• Maintain food safety and hygiene in line with Sodexo policy and legal standards

• Minimise food waste through efficient preparation and portion control

• Participate in kitchen cleaning routines and maintain accurate records

• Support new team members through our “buddy” induction programme

• Follow all relevant health & safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies

What you bring:

• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate

• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent)

• Experience in catering for large-scale or special dietary needs

• Effective communication and customer care skills

• High standards of personal hygiene

• Empathy and professionalism in a healthcare setting

• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment 

  
  

Desirable

• Previous experience in NHS or healthcare catering

• Familiarity with infection control and food allergen policies

• Manual Handling training
