Chef Supervisor

Job Introduction

As Chef Supervisor for Sodexo at Tettenhall College Independent Day and Boarding School, Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, WV6 8QX, you will oversee all aspects of the food and beverage operations as well as the finances for your school’s kitchen. You will be responsible for ensuring that the food and level of service are of the highest calibre and that the school catering is among the best in the region. Your attitude will influence your team's daily lives as the person they go to for direction and support, which will in turn foster a vibrant and productive work environment. As well as this, you will not work unsociable hours and you will get public holidays off… including Christmas!

What you do:

  • To ensure prompt, efficient, and innovative service of all catering and hospitality to the company standard and client’s satisfaction.
  • To ensure that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in relation to customers’ special dietary requirements, for example, nut, dairy, or wheat allergies.
  • To help  plan, and prepare and serve innovative meals that appeal to the age range of 4 to 18
  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene standards of all areas, ensuring that legal and company standards are met.
  • Ensure the segments Fresh Food from Scratch principles are applied to all areas of the business.
  • To prepare food that is within the financial perimeters of the budget.
  • To attend appropriate training courses, conferences and meetings as directed by the company or client
  • Great food served at all times
  • Food quality to be that of Independent School standard

What you bring:

  • NVQ level 2 in Catering/Chef or similar qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good Front of House skills
  • ⁠Sodexo embeds a strong Safety culture in everything we do. There will be company procedures to follow so good knowledge of HACCP, COSHH procedures and Food Hygiene Regulation is vital.

Package Description

  • 26 hours per week
  • Working pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
  • Term Time Only Contract

**Equated pay (sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks. This means that you get paid equal amounts of pay every month. Further information will be supplied at interview stage.**
