  • Job Title: Catering and Cleaning Site Manager
  • Location: Ferryfield House, 100 Pilton Drive, Edinburgh, EH5 2HF
  • Up to £35,000 Yearly Salary 
  • 20 Days Holiday per year plus Bank Holidays
  • 37.5 Hours a Week / Monday to Friday ( some flexibility will be needed as site is operational 7 days a week)

Job Introduction 

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead theday-to-day operational management of our contracted services, ensuringefficient delivery in line with contractual and statutory requirements. Sodexoprovides a full range of facilities services at this small community hospital,which consists of two wards and operates with a dedicated team working 7 days aweek, 365 days a year. Services include catering—providing patient feeding withthree meals per day—domestic cleaning, linen and laundry, and waste management. The post holder will oversee all soft services at the Ferryfield House site and contribute to ongoing servicedevelopment.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships across the site.
  • Provide day-to-day management of staff, including oversight of the operational budget and proactive resolution of any issues or disputes.
  • Ensure all services, Catering and Domestic are delivered to the required standard through effective operational management.
  • Manage the workforce in line with company and client policies, including handling employee relations matters.
  • Lead administrative functions, including recruitment, talent succession planning, purchasing, month-end processes, and payroll activities.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current health and safety regulations and ensure full compliance across the site.
  • Oversee training requirements, ensuring staff are up to date with legislative changes and best practice.

What You Bring:

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in a management role within Soft FM ideally the Catering industry.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and resilient, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong people management skills, including recruitment, training, performance management, and handling disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Strong numerical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Sound management knowledge of health & safety and food safety requirements.
  • Confident decision-maker with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining standards.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, develop opportunities, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Food safety qualification equivalent to CIEH Level 3.
  • IOSH

Desirable

  • Previous experience working within a healthcare environment.
