Catering Instructor – HMP Bronzefield
HMP Bronzefield is the UK’s only purpose-built women’s prison, housing both remand and sentenced residents. We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Catering Instructor to join our team and help deliver high-quality vocational training that supports rehabilitation and personal development.
In this role, you’ll inspire and guide learners within a professional catering and restaurant environment, equipping them with valuable skills that can support their resettlement and future employment.

Main Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality vocational training and supervision to prisoners within a catering and restaurant environment. 
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet required standards and achieve positive learner outcomes. 
- Ensure compliance with all security, health & safety, and administrative procedures. 
- Monitor learner attendance, achievement, and progression, ensuring qualification success and positive feedback. 
- Support the promotion and development of the prison’s catering brand, enhancing engagement and participation. 
- Demonstrate flexibility, enthusiasm, and commitment to equality, diversity, and continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Full teaching qualification (minimum CTLLS) or PGCE, or currently working towards this. 
 OR Assessor qualification.
- Recognised catering knowledge. 
- Experience delivering catering, hospitality, or barista-accredited qualifications. 
- Recognised Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant subject, with professional experience. 
- Genuine interest in the rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders. 
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to engage learners at all levels. 
Desirable
- Experience instructing or supporting individuals with challenging behaviour. 
- Previous experience working within a prison or custodial environment. 
Competencies
- Knowledge of relevant curriculums. 
- Understanding of custodial settings and diverse groups. 
- Flexible, proactive, and dynamic approach to training delivery. 
Clearance: MOJ Level 1 vetting plus DBS.
Package Description
💷 Salary: £39,487.97 + London Weighting £3,729.24
🕒 Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
