At HMP Northumberland, we run the full prison operations including Prison Custody Officers, integrated Facilities Management, and we provide rehabilitation services, resettlement programmes, offender behaviour programmes, education and skills development, vocational training, and workshops and industries.
We are now looking to recruit an experienced Catering Service Manager to oversee our large onsite bulk catering operation. With proven management experience you will be accountable for around 30 members of kitchen staff per day, encompassing both civil staff and prisoners. You will communicate clearly, effectively and lead by example and with passion and credibility.
Our busy Kitchen prepares, cooks and serves 1348 meals twice a day 365 days per year. Due to increase to 1700 in 2025/26
You will manage the output, quality and efficiency of the Kitchen ensuring that meals leave the kitchen and are delivered to our 20 serveries across the prison house blocks seamlessly.
There is a 4 weekly rolling set Menu that is updated twice yearly with the expectation that the catering service manager will be prepared to travel offsite to attend and input into these planning sessions.
This role will predominantly be Monday – Friday (flexibility on start time available) with occasional weekend cover required.
