Location: Paddington, London
Salary: £55,000 & range of excellent employee benefits
Onsite – Monday-Friday
Sodexo has a great opportunity for an experienced Catering Manager to join our established team working with our prestigious clients based in London.
Joining our team at their site in Paddington, you will act as the primary representative of Sodexo within the Catering service, supporting regional sites as required and working collaboratively across teams as appropriate to ensure that Sodexo working for the food division UK delivers both qualitative & quantitative results, ensuring the effective operation in all Catering outlets, through the provision of team management and service delivery, streamlining processes and illuminating duplication of effort where possible.
The Catering Manager will motivate and lead a high performing team to achieve their objectives and the Sodexo strategy whilst providing direction and expertise to the operating area by promoting the strategies and best business practices to uphold the Company mission & values whilst providing excellent customer service, performing the preparation, presentation and service of food and beverages to the client & Sodexo’s satisfaction with management of Sodexo’s accounts ensuring that the Client receives services of the highest quality.
Accountabilities
• Management of Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation relating to the building portfolio ensuring the statutory requirements are met and all records maintained up to standards
• Risk management; minimise risk and maintain profitability completing technical/quality assessments to understand the impact of change activities and commissioning checks to ensure the standard of change meets expectation.
• Strategic and technical support; professional advice to customers, peers and team. Coordinate and direct all activities within the assigned areas
• Manage and control the services to the agreed specification and to the agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets
• Look for and implement opportunities to drive Sodexo revenue and labour productivity in the units
• Plan and check that marketing initiatives are implemented standard Manage rotas for all KP’s across food production areas
• To be fully conversant with the concept, presentation and delivery of all menu items and cooking methods
• Attend the Weekly Planning Menu Meeting to agree ordering volumes for the street operations weekly menu cycle and adjust ordering volumes accordingly
• Manage the CPU Team on a day-to-day basis, to deliver on requested supplies
• Check and review the work of team members
People
• Measure the performance of your people by giving feedback and reviewing and completing appraisals
• Develop your people and ensure succession planning, managing poor performance
• Communicate regularly; monthly meetings and daily face to face team briefing
• Ensure your team deliver your operation to the service standards agreed in the contract with your client
• Select, recruit and induct the right team
Finance
• Manage a team to increase the Client and Sodexo’s revenue opportunities i.e., commercial opportunities, labour efficiency and generate the GOP expected within the contract
• Protect the company’s profit by delivering your Sodexo budget each month. Ensure cash, stock, debt and assets are properly controlled
• Streamline processes and ordering to ensure maximizing of gross margin, reduction in duplication of effort and streamlining of processes. Communicate clearly with all areas to ensure continuation of process
Health & Safety
• To enforce Health & Safety legislation and ensure all staff comply with Health & Safety and Food Safety
• Ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of all people on site at all times
• Ensure Manual Handling Tasks are carried out in accordance with company and statutory legislation

About You
Experience and knowledge requirement for this role:
- Strong background in the Catering Industry with direct experience of supporting multi-sites
- Experience of working in a similar industry such as food service, catering or hospitality
- Strong customer facing skills and an ability to work under pressure are necessary requirements for the position Strong People Management and influencing skills
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the team
- Ability to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovate solutions/approaches
- Able to demonstrate personal self-development and development of team
- Demonstration of teamwork, implementing initiatives and working on own judgement and decisions
- Change management and performance management experience
- Understands customers’ commercial and business objectives in order to meet their needs

Qualifications required:
- IOSH Certificate
