Catering Engineer

Job Introduction

The Catering Engineer shall carry out a varied range of duties across the busy healthcare establishment. The duties and responsibilities will be across the Wythenshawe and Hospital site as required.

Role Responsibility

• Will have day to day responsibility for responding to issued dockets and for correctly filling in such dockets prior to hand in.
• Will undertake installation work and repair as required, acting as the competent person for catering equipment and plant items.
• Will work to health and safety requirements.
• Will undertake all necessary repairs and PPM’s of a statutory and non-statutory nature and advise manager on remedial action required.
• Will conduct fault finding diagnostics on various mechanical and electrical catering equipment and plant within a healthcare environment, and where required and pass on such knowledge to others.
• Will have an understanding of electrical, plumbing and catering equipment and plant in a healthcare environment.
• Will be required to work on new systems and undertake training on new techniques and legislation as required and pass on knowledge to others.
• Will be required to use all relevant tools and equipment within their specific field.
• May be required to use access equipment for working at heights.
• May be required to work alone.
• May be required to drive the company vehicle from time to time as directed by the supervisor
• To undertake all additional duties and responsibilities as instructed by senior management and may be required to work on other Sodexo contracts as directed by his manager.
• Will have a fundamental working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• Will respond to issued breakdown repair work in priority order ensuring response times are met.
• To manage Sodexo sub-contractors and trust staff.

The Ideal Candidate

Healthcare experience

Understanding of Health & Safety

Works well in a team as well as working alone

Good communication skills

Good with prioritising & managing workload

Someone with basic electrical qualifications

Essential knowledge of fault finding on commercial fridge and freezers

Essential fridge qualification.
