Casual Food Unit Managers at Ascot Racecourse
Job Introduction
1711 by Ascot are currently recruiting casual food unit managers to work on racedays and other events that take place at Ascot Racecourse, the food unit manager must ensure the unit operates smoothly, with sufficient stock and staff at all times.
The ideal candidate in this position must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, maintaining a courteous demeanour with customers, as well as effectively make use of quiet times. Strong leadership and personnel management skills should be accompanied by a customer service focus and commitment to company values and image. The food unit manager pays close attention to all operational details to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of guests and job satisfaction of staff, as well as the financial success of the establishment.
Role Responsibility
Responsibilities:
- To be able to work with a casual and varied staff pool and lead daily briefings focusing on health and safety, bar training and general expectations
- Monitor inventory of food items and request extra stock when necessary
- Oversee cleanliness of the unit area, paying special attention to possible health and safety hazards
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and according to company guidelines
- Oversee the preparation of food and ensure quality if product serves
- Understand Allergen Awareness
Skills
- Proficient with point of sale software
- Puts customer needs first and ensures customer satisfaction through their work
- Making sound decisions through problem solving
- Be able to communicate effectively in a busy and loud environment
- Confidence operating EPOS technology and stock management software
- Barista experience would be a plus but not essential
