Job Introduction
About the role
HMP & YOI Bronzefield is the largest women’s prison in Europe which accommodates a diverse and complex population of women from restricted Status women who require the highest levels of security, women on remand (whom are often experiencing custody for the first time), as well as supporting women with chronic mental health conditions.
As a caseworker at Bronzefield you will be assessing the women’s needs upon their arrival to the prison and where necessary will facilitate referrals to both internal and external partners.
The role would be a great opportunity for someone looking to broaden the scope of their experience as your caseload would be so diverse giving exposure to support across a wide a range of areas including;
- Substance misuse
- Mental health
- Child safeguarding
- Transgender (including transition)
- Domestic abuse
You can expect to manage around 50 – 60 case at anyone time and will be responsible for those individuals from entry to release.
We are ideally looking for someone that has previous experience of working with offenders in custody, ex-offenders in the community or NEETS.
There will be instances where you will need to represent the prison at multi-disciplinary meetings and as such you will need to be confident and competent it report writing and communicating across all levels.
Working Hours
37.5 hours – Monday – Friday
(some flex available to start between 8 and 9 to suit)
