As a result of our continued growth and success in the food sector, Sodexo have a fantastic opportunity for a food focused Business Development Manager to join our established team in Corporate Service in the UK.
In this role you will support the delivery of the Corporate Services strategy for growth through new business and cross selling activities across all levels of workplace dining & soft services.
You will build and own the relationships with target and existing clients and design complex win strategies together with our bid teams to achieve the segment sales strategies.
This will be achieved through the delivery of personal sales targets through profitable, right client, right terms business by leading bids from inception to conversion, successfully handing over to mobilisation & operations.
Acting as the primary representative of the Business Development team, you will develop the sales pipeline accordingly through effective client relationship management and the expert use of practices to develop client insight.
As this is a client facing role you will be travelling across the UK each week to meet new and existing stakeholders. The regularity of this travel will be based on business requirements, but this will regularly require travel for 3 out of 5 days each week.

About You
To be considered for this role you will have and be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Proven experience and a successful track record in bidding complex bids or managing complex food / soft services operations.
- Experience of professional workplace dining, ideally, both contract catering and soft services.
- Management of the total bid process for new and retained business.
- Proven track record of driving improvements in performance and creating high levels of motivation and engagement.
- Exceptional client relationship management skills
- Development of commercially viable solutions based on rigorous techniques to understand client needs and price products/services accordingly.
- Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills. Will be required to communicate with audiences ranging from large groups to individuals, normally in very senior roles, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
- High standards of numeracy and written communication, particularly sales/bid copy
- Wide range of managing and leading sales / bid team
