Business Development Director – Europe (Netherlands, Norway and UK&I)
Job Introduction
Our Business Development Director (Europe) is responsible for establishing, driving, and delivering the Energy & Resources regional strategy. Identifying, and developing the business capture pipeline (new business, retention, and cross selling) resulting in business capture and growth within both traditional and new energy sectors.
Role Responsibility
- Identify, agree, and manage prioritised business capture targets as per agreed E&R strategy
- Work closely with global sales organisation to improve success rate (specifically regarding Global Strategic Accounts and Offshore opportunities)
- Develop, agree, and execute strategies for defined business capture targets; proactively maintain business development growth opportunities pipeline, recording all associated activity and relevant documentation via the CRM
- Preparation and delivery of analysis, messaging and presentations regarding evolving market trends, business capture opportunities and competitor activities for consideration by E&R leadership
- Develop, nurture and leverage client relationships to grow Web of Influence and develop targeted short, medium, and long-term business capture opportunities
- Ensure the bid management process, is planned, managed, and delivered in line with agreed winning strategy, timelines, and expectations of E&R leadership
- Deliver compelling tender and presentation documents that answer client needs and deliver a clear winning strategy for Sodexo E&R, in compliance with agreed standards, approval process and best practice
- Support retention through active involvement in rebid activity in partnership with all relevant stakeholders
- The promotion of Sodexo image and brand with markets of responsibility in a professional and ethical manner
- Positioning Sodexo with existing and prospective clients and other key stakeholders as the partner of choice for services, through personal influence, storytelling, thought leadership, solution design and the building of meaningful, strategic relationships
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will possess experience of managing the total bid process for new and retained business, plus a demonstrable track record of developing successful business capture and business development strategies across a broad portfolio of target client groups.
Extensive knowledge of the industry/client sectors, including private sector tendering and commissioning procedures. Knowledge of both traditional and new energy markets and facilities management services would be a strong advantage. Strong Executive presence, expert influencing skills, and a solid understanding of the industry/client sectors, competitive and account information are pivotal to this role.
Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills. Will be required to communicate with audiences ranging from large groups to individuals, normally in very senior roles, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
