Assistant Manager
Job Introduction
As a CRL Assistant Manager at Sodexo in HM Navel Base, Portsmouth, you'll support the CRL Manager with the performance of the catering operation across multiple outlets, identifying opportunities to deliver the CRL plan and Sodexo’s long-term priorities. You will focus on our people and help build an environment that allows the team to shine, enabling them to deliver amazing customer moments and drive the lived experience and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, client contractual obligations and company standards, whilst operating within budget.
Key Accountabilities
- Team, Leadership – lead by example. Role model the company values and behaviours, team spirit, service spirit and spirit of progress, at all times to colleagues, customers and clients. Provide clear direction on all aspects of CRL and champion effective communication. Assist with the recruitment, training, and development of the team.
- Risk, Governance, and Compliance – ensure a culture of health and safety is present and maintained at all times, using the appropriate reporting procedures at the earliest opportunity. Support the completion of unit business Health Checks, across all sites. Ensure compliance to food safety at all times, in all areas of the business. Assist with the management of the team, in line with the company procedures, including formal performance and management processes.
- Client, Relationship Management – assist with managing improvements to service, with collaborative working, to establish a dynamic and positive culture. Seek to develop and maintain strong business relationships. Attend on site meetings as directed by your line manager.
- Service Excellence – support all aspects of service excellence across the CRL operation, including brand integrity, quality and assurance, compliance, Sodexo’s corporate social responsibility and service standard.
Person Specification
- Degree, Higher National Diploma or equivalent within the catering, retail, and hospitality industry.
- Knowledge on current food safety legislation, or advanced food hygiene.
- Previous management experience within similar environment and industry.
- Proven track record of delivering against financial budgets and performance targets.
- Ability to prioritise, work to tight deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
- Able to demonstrate achievement of continuous quality and assurance improvement in the workplace.
