As a Assistant Chef at Sodexo in Fortius Clinic, 66 Wigmore Street, London, W1U 2SB, you’ll play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience. You’ll be responsible for managing your own section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards. What you’ll do:
Ensure stock control and rotation procedures are maintained
Complete all audit and quality standards documentation as required
Ensure all foods are prepared according to standard recipe and production schedules
Assist with the production of all foods necessary for patients, visitor, and staff food services throughout Fortius hospital
Prepare special diets for staff and patients as requested by the Fortius site’s nominated client
Adhere to all legislation, Client, and Company policy in the provision of patient meal service
Assist in the preparation of all meal services at required times to company standards and client satisfaction
Prepare meals when necessary, including salads, using the ‘Food Standards’ package as a minimum standard
Assist management with planning menus, rotas, orders, receiving, checking, and storing deliveries as requested
Assist in the service of meals when necessary
Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation and service areas, adhering to Health and Safety regulations
Assist in stocktaking and ensure security of stores during all working hours
Keep all working areas and surfaces clean and tidy at all times, especially at the end of the day/shift
Ensure correct storage and disposal of all food and non-food items
Assist in the training of staff and supervision of standards
Ensure security of all establishment’s provisions, equipment, and utensils at all times
Wash crockery, cutlery, and equipment used in meal services within the kitchen, including using automated dishwashing equipment
Carry out any reasonable requests made by the Hospital/Catering management team
What you bring:
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience as a chef
- Strong culinary skills and a genuine passion for cooking
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy kitchen
- Clear, respectful communication and a strong team spirit
