Assistant Catering Manager

This role will require applicants to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and/ or Disclosure Scotland.  

What you’ll do:
  • Support recruitment and HR procedures, including holidays, disciplinary procedures, and rotas.
  • Delegate tasks to staff and ensure their proper completion.
  • Assist with the organization and training of staff, including new starters.
  • Plan works and schedules to ensure sufficient staffing while staying within budgetary guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in the department.
  • Create and maintain cleaning schedules to ensure equipment is well-maintained.
  • Monitor staff performance and ensure work is carried out effectively.
 
What you bring:
  • Previous experience in managing staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop staffing rotas for large teams.
  • Proactive and motivational approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Experience in implementing training programs and developing team members.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Positive approach to learning and self-motivated.
  • Proficient computer skills, including working with Excel spreadsheets
