Apprentice Front of House Manager
Job Introduction
Sodexo have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Front of House Manager to join our busy team in Birmingham.
Reporting to our General Services Manager, the Apprentice Front of House Manager will be responsible for ensuring all standards of service, presentation and customer care are met across the site.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate some experience working in a similar soft services environment, have fantastic people skills and ideally basic food hygiene certification.

Role Responsibility
- Continue to develop one’s own skills and knowledge within the position, including any required training courses
- Maintain excellent client/customer relationships
- Attend team briefs, huddles and meetings as required
- Attend your EPA to discuss and agree job performance, objectives and development activities
- Maintain professional work standards at all times
- Care for all company equipment and ensure that any faults are reported to management
- Act as duty manager ‘on call’ and holiday/weekend cover as directed by line manager
- Agree with General Services Manager the allocations of work schedules ensuring efficiency is maximised and, as directed, produce employee rosters in line with the employee’s terms and conditions.
- Immediately report any equipment/building defects
- Efficiently train, instruct and manage the team in the delivery of services and associated tasks.
- To be in attendance at functions to provide smooth service and good customer service and relations.
- Ensure all employees adhere to the uniform and personal hygiene policy as detailed within Company Induction pack.
- Ensure employee compliance to all cash, keys, stock, premise, security policy and procedure; report any deficiencies as identified immediately to the General Services Manager.
- To efficiently train, instruct and manage the team in the delivery of food services and associated tasks.
- Ensure all employees adhere to the uniform and personal hygiene policy as detailed within Company Induction pack.

The Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrate experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level in a company.
- Basic food hygiene, HASAW and COSHH Certification.
- Knowledge of working in a management role within the soft FM service industry
- Leadership skills and knowledge
- People management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing employee performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
- Management knowledge of health and safety and food safety
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Able to work on own initiative within a team environment
- Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
- Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
