Sodexo is seeking a reliable and skilled Grounds Maintenance Operative to deliver high-quality grounds and building maintenance services in line with client expectations and Sodexo standards. This role involves a variety of manual and support duties, with a focus on grounds maintenance using heavy machinery, facilities support, and safe operational practices.

What you'll do

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance of grounds using appropriate tools and heavy machinery.

  • Complete building maintenance and facilities tasks as directed by the line manager or supervisor.

  • Support logistical tasks, such as delivery handling, porterage, and meeting room set-up.

  • Escort sub-contractors and visitors, ensuring compliance with site rules and safety standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and report faults or defects promptly.

  • Follow all Health & Safety, COSHH, and company policies at all times.

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a smart, professional appearance.

  • Remain flexible and responsive to changing priorities across all service lines.

What you'll bring

  • Previous experience in a facilities or maintenance role.

  • Familiarity with Health & Safety procedures and standards.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Able to prioritise tasks, work independently, and manage time effectively.

  • Confident operating grounds maintenance equipment and handling manual tasks.

  • Reliable, flexible, and a team player with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
